The GSC offers three types of awards: travel awards, conference awards, and project awards. Travel awards are for individual graduate students to support conference travel; project awards are for graduate students organizing events that are open to UIC graduate students such as conferences and talks.
Note to Graduate College Departments: Determination for eligibility will be made by GSC. If a student submits a request for funding after the applicable quarter, they may still be eligible for funding based on GSC budget at the end of the academic year. We ask that the DGS of each department attest to the validity of the student's position in their department and attendance at the noted conference. Students may submit applications for funding after the applicable quarter due to the possibility of GSC being able to provide financial support later in the year, this will be determined at the end of the academic year; priority for funding is given to students who apply in the appropriate quarter.
